Rosacea

Rosacea is a common, long-term condition that causes redness, pimples, cysts, eye irritation and pronounced blood vessels. The condition is more likely for those with light skin who blush easily, but it occurs in people of all skin tones.

Acne-like breakouts are a common symptom. The condition may also cause rough, scaly skin that feels dry. The condition can also affect your eyes, making them feel dry and irritated. People with rosacea are also likely to be sensitive to certain skin care products.

It’s not clear what causes rosacea, but it is most often seen in fair-skinned people older than 30, those who have a blood relative who has rosacea, those who have numerous acne breakouts and those going through menopause.

There’s no cure for rosacea, but treatments include a consistent skincare regimen that includes a prescription medicine. The team at True Dermatology can create a personal treatment plan for you.
